"...structural meltdown. So it's me and my brother, and he pushes me off the roof..."
It was some big kid talking to a cute chick. What I wouldn't have given to hear the rest of that story!
Now, for a little comedy thanks to the folks at quantz.com:

And now, the news:
There is no news. Last weekend returned home yet again, this time to actually sing in the recital at the Munstitute with Lauralyn and the rest of the B#/Utica community theater crew. I have never in my life felt more like I was inside a Christopher Guest movie, mainly due to the great ranges of artistic expertise (and perceived artistic expertise) involved. The following are the highlights of that experience:
1. Singing in one of the two classical duets of the afternoon, the only duet accompanied by Tina Toglia (Vera played for everyone else)
2. Hearing Joanna Moore sing - a new experience for me. I hope that when I am Joanna's age I look that good and my technique holds up that well! Brava, madam!
3. Having Allie Loomis and Dave Kolb look at each other and say "Tony, Tony," and "Maria, Maria" when they're clearly the most English-looking people I know
4. Hearing the artisically juxtaposed voices of Allie Loomis and Susan Nackley in "A Boy like That" from West Side Story
5. Seeing the ever-perfect Michelle O'Neil and Peter Loftus in a stunning duet from "Nobody's Perfect" in which they were married
6. Seeing JoEllyn and a gentleman I didn't know sing "Tea for Two," complete with softshoe choreography. Fantastic!
This week was much better along the lines of singing. Missed out on a coaching with Diane on Monday because of some odd vocal things, but I'm going to assume my voice was just tired from the recital on Sunday. My coaching on Tuesday with Chai-Kyou was great, as was voice class Wed. and my lesson Thurs. The lackey position is going well...this week I PHOTOCOPIED (no, surely not no!) for 2 HOURS!!! Wheeeee!!!! In any event the prof. is very nice and professional so that is all the good things.
Have also had a great time in History class, mostly due to the hijinks of one Prof. Schleuse, who may be the funniest person I know in the musicology field. Does that make me geeky? Perhaps. Well, this quote is mostly for Liz's benefit anyway...
"You can't make C fa because it's already fa - and you can't FA a FA!!!" ~ The immortal Paul Schleuse, on why C-flat didn't exist for Josquin (He got real excited about it!)
In other news, am trying not to hate the world quite so much mostly? And be patient? Stop laughing. Also I was cold today so I took the opportunity to purchase a Binghamton University hoodie to show my school support, if not pride? Shut up. We're not friends.
This weekend, will be going home for my sister's birthday after opera chorus rehearsal lets out Saturday at 4. Meg is now 16, so that means I'll probably die tomorrow. See ya later! Hopefully will be able to see Victoria on Sunday, and then will be back to the Bing! Again! For a long period of time this time!
