So this weekend, Julia MacDougall was the first person to visit me in my Binghamton place! My roommates were real sweet about cleaning up the apartment and dishes and stuff, and the whole thing went off without a hitch! Yay!
I think I need to reiterate how wonderful it is to see friends from my real life. It inspires me to do my fake life in a better, more effective way. A la, Julia left tonight and I was finally inspired to write this damn 10-page paper that I have been working on since the forever times. I will be going up to school to do more research tomorrow and to edit the damn thing, but the point is it's really getting there in a way I never thought it would so quickly.
So, to recap all the awesomes we completed this weekend...on Friday night when she got here we went grocery shopping for dinner and snacks because I have none of the normal foods here in the apartment place. Then we came back and made dinner and watched the MST3K episode "Santa Claus," which is holiday-themed and a dubbed Mexican children's movie which is so bad it just can't even be described. Then we chatted for awhile and watched random YouTube videos, and then we attempted to find a place to go outside and walk a little bit because we were stuffed from dinner. Unfortunately it was all the possible cold and dark, so that didn't really work, but we went on a driving adventure instead and ended up in Pennsylvania a little bit? I mean, whatevs. Then we came back and watched MacGyver (P.S. Check out these if you want a laugh) and went to bed, and by "went to bed" I mean "stayed up talking until 3am," which was all the awesomes, even though I may or may not have fallen asleep in the middle of a sentence at one point.
Then this morning, we woke up and went for breakfast at IHOP (MOST delicious) and then I took Julia on a tour of Binghamton. The one word she used to describe the city is the word everyone uses..."depressing." Then we hit up the Cider Mill in Endicott, and got a GIANT chocolate chip cookie and a half-gallon of cider. We toyed with the idea of seeing Beowulf (which OMG is going to be the best film ever made) but we will probably see it when I visit her at her home place over the Christmas break. WOO! Then we went to play at Barnes and Noble, at which I picked up some new stationary for letter-writing and a new ink pen and some ink to write with and then we came home and watched...you guessed it..."Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World!" It is fun because I am ALL the in love with Russel Crowe in that movie and she is ALL the in love with Paul Bettany so it totally works out. Then, we read some Maddox articles and she had to go home, which was sad face.
It's amazing how visiting a friend's place or having a lovely friend come to visit you is a great way to get inspired to live the rest of your life in an effective way. After Julia left, I was able to pound out an unedited 7 of my 10-12 research paper draft that is due to Paul Schleuse on Monday. Julia has left her aura with me and it is inspiring me to do great things! AWESOMES!!!
