Graduation - all it's cracked up to be?

I guess I didn't really know what I was getting myself into when I decided that getting a Master's Degree was something I wanted to do with my life. I thought I would be more qualified for a job, or smarter, or something. Here are the things that having a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance actually gave me - in list form, because lists are totally the coolest you guys:

Pros:
1. Time living outside the county where I was born
2. A very nice boyfriend
3. Some kick-ass voice and piano lessons
4. Time to practice
5. Experience teaching
6. Experience administrating
7. Planet Fitness

Cons:
1. Time living in a place I didn't like very much
2. Time at a university that didn't value my program AT ALL
3. Time surrounded by mostly unintelligent undergraduates
4. A pile of student loan debt

So pretty much all my Master's Degree got me was...back home, plus a lot more educated and skilled and important things like that. So, here are the pros and cons of that, also in list form because OMG HOW ELSE:

Pros:
1. Time with the fam (whom I like because even though it's the house I grew up in I get treated like an adult - props for parents who don't suck!)
2. No rent = more loan payments
3. Teaching opportunities and a full time job (pretty exciting in this economy!)
4. Performance opportunities I hadn't really done before (WHOA SUMMERSTAGE WHOA)
5. New friends who are around!
6. JUNE THE HOMEMAKER!

Cons:
1. Oh my God I'm in Utica again
2. I don't really get to see the aforementioned boyfriend very often
3. I'm mostly not working in my field
4. I mostly don't have time to practice like pretty much at all

Yep, that's my post-graduate-graduate life in a nutshell. I guess all there is to do is survive the next couple of years as inexpensively and happily as possible - which will hopefully start with this weekend's camp adventure!
