Evaluating Summer

So, given that Labor Day is just around the corner, I'm having the urge to evaluate my summer. It's list time again folks!

Pros:

1. I was in two community theater productions, in one of which I had a lead and both of which kept me brushed up on certain skills.
2. I made some great new friends in the shows, for whom I have hella love!
3. I've totally had some great mentionable (and unmentionable!) party times with aforementioned friends!
4. June the Homemaker is actually underway - we're up over 20 episodes and can release without fear on Labor Day! We're also an official business and stuff!
5. I have a full-time job, and have made thousands of dollars worth of payments on my student loans - not only will my interest not capitalize in November when I enter repayment, my required monthly payments will drop dramatically...hooray!
6. I am starting teaching shortly after Labor Day, so that will be some extra income I actually need, because what the hell is with these gas prices, am I right?
7. Megan is gone to college, so I'm an only child again! :-)

Cons:

1. The shows totally killed my sleep schedule. I was wrecked for a couple of months.
2. I totally haven't had a location or the time or the sleep to practice, like, at all. That is something I'm correcting via an agreement with my parents whereby after work, they go to the gym so I can practice in peace!
3. Long-distance relationships totally suck, and mine is no different, plus some other issues related to that subject that are not internet-appropriate.
4. Drinking frequently is a thing I haven't done since undergrad, and I'm getting old! It's so much fun...and expensive, and I think might be related to my dizzy spells I've been having, so...maybe that will calm down a bit? It's nice to go out a bit though, it really helps.
5. Megan is gone to college, so now I'm an only child again :-(
6. I'm living in my hometown working a job not in my specialty to work off my loans enough to do what I want to do while lots of people my age are living fine with debt and working jobs they love and sometimes I feel crazy but mostly I feel like I'm setting myself up for long-term artistic and financial success?
7. Nora is moved to Boston :-(

So overall...a pretty good summer? Developing a network of people that I actually know here will help a lot, though I don't know what I'll do when Anna moves to Boston too...*sniff*

Oh well. On to the fall...and more overtime hours! W00t!

Sounds like I'd better reclaim my rum, so as to help you out with Con #4.

Of course, such an event might provide an excuse to do some partaking of said rum, in which case this plan could really backfire. Ah well.

All in all, I think Pros > Cons.

Pro #whatever: I am now here for the foreseeable future, and therefore we can have a social life and go out. Preferably not drinking because this summer kind of killed me in that respect.
