Okay so I watched "Interview with the Vampire" on Anna's recommendation, and I have to say, it was a pretty good movie? That is, it was a tried and true vampire movie with occasionally stupid dialogue and a plot more predictable than "A Walk to Remember" with some really great acting. Although let's be honest, Tom Cruise playing a foppish, power-crazed immortal person who's basically a dead alligator sometimes is pretty accurate, minus the immortal part.
I wished that Christian Slater was in the movie more though? He had like 3 lines, and the rest of the time his instructions were "listen attentively." He did well but let's be honest my dog could've done that and he's dead.
Also normally I'm a huge fan of blood and everything but in the Mortal Kombat "let me beat you to death with your own arm" way, not in this "omg having all the blood leave my body is totally hott" thing. This shit is WEIRD, guys. Girls getting all hot all over the place over being killed? Vampire men basically being gay? If they're gay then why are they always eating girls? WHAT IS GOING ON?
Contrary to what a lot of people thought, my favorite part was Kirsten Dunst playing the tiny child vampire thing. Sucks never to have boobs, but having a tiny child eat people all over the place was kind of awesome, not to mention the way she all killed Tom Cruise without Brad Pitt having any idea what was going on.
NOT TO MENTION the fact that an IMDB page that has so many characters listed as "1st whore, whore on waterfront, etc." gets the unintentional comedy sticker in my book.
What I'm saying I guess is that I liked it a lot, giving it a chance, and that it'd be really easy to make fun of though...kind of like an Ann Rice novel.
What IS it with vampires anyway? Crazy kids.
